SXSW is upon us.

SXSW starts in a few days here in Austin. (If you already have no idea what I’m talking about, check out more here.) This is like a 2nd Christmas to me. I am completely stoked. For a lot of Austinites it’s that time when everyone invades the city, there’s horrible traffic, you can’t go downtown, and you pray no one decides to move here after their amazing experience. But to each his own. 

I work for is a software technology company that’s emphasis is on social media. Oh and our office is 2 blocks away from the heart of the madness. As you can imagine, we’re going all out this year. Some of the highlights include a 3-story, open bar bash*, 2 separate lounges (we’ve converted space in our office) that include catered food and open bar**, and a traveling airstream photo booth with pictures they print immediately or you can share on your social network. 

I have a badge for interactive for the first time this year. I also have a hotel downtown so I don’t have to worry about transportation every night and morning. I am ready to soak it all in. Bring on the all day panels, drinking, eating, and networking!***

* I carefully selected this word. We have 1,500 people RSVPed last time I checked for a space that holds 600. 

** Why yes that is a lit up bar in our lounge! Also shout out to the 90s with the slap bracelet you see in the picture :)

We made this pizza a few days ago, and it was DELISH! Here’s the recipe. I made a few adjustments: real garlic instead of garlic powder, fat free mozzarella instead of Babybel, lean ground beef instead of soy, etc. It was amazing and only 254 calories! Not bad!

I got my boots shined at the airport a while back. First of all, I felt really awesome sitting on the boot shining throne. But more importantly, my boots looked BRAND NEW again, like a new pair of shoes! I didn’t realize it was possible, but I’m now a shoe shine convert!

Surprise trip revealed! We’re spending the weekend in Sonoma and Napa Valley! Last night we stayed in San Fran and we’ve started the wine tasting today. Sean did a fantastic job planning out every detail. I’m so excited to visit my motherland!

Mystery anniversary trip!

I am very, very excited because in a few minutes I’m leaving for a mystery trip. Sean has been sweet enough to plan a trip for our 3 year anniversary and I have NO idea where we’re going. While that has been difficult for a type A personality control freak like myself, I am also super excited. I’ll keep you posted on where we’re going! :)

In the old days I had a puggle cam set up to monitor Mr. Leo when he was sleeping during the day. Yes that’s about all he did. Now that little miss Maggie is in the picture, we set up the web cam again for the first time in a while.
