Lessons in being friendly…

And why you shouldn’t do it. People around my apartment complex are very friendly. Everyone always says hello and what not. Yesterday a guy said hi and our dogs were playing for a bit. He told me about some trash run that was going on in Austin that was going to be free food, drinks, etc. I said (to be nice) “Sure I’ll look at the website”. He asked if I wanted him to text me the info and I said ok and gave him my number*.

He texted me a few times (one said “Did I text the right number?” after I didn’t respond. Yes dumbass you did.**)

After very little feedback and texts from me he proceeded to text me this.

UMMMMM HELLO?! Would you like my social security number while we’re at it? Who the hell just ASKS someone their last name like that with obviously no intention other than to stalk***. No and no. I didn’t text back. He continued to text and ask me to lunch etc.

* I realize this was a HUGE mistake and shame on me for enabling him. I just froze up!
** I realize this was my second out of this whole situation. *** I just looked HIM up. Couldn’t find a single thing on the interwebz. A little fishy if you ask me.
