I’m finally realizing why seasons are so important.
It’s October in 3 days. We’ve had many days of 3-digit temperatures (including today) and a cool front coming that will take our highs down to the mid to low 90s. I’m reminded of a children’s book my parents used to read us. The child in the story wishes that every day could be Christmas. Like any good children’s book, it ends with a moral. People get so tired of Christmas that after a while they are all angry and mad and throw presents at each other because they’re so tired of the magicalness of the holiday.
How does this relate? I’m tired of summer. It has been going strong for 5 months, almost half the year. I have never appreciated seasons and fall as much as I do now. I’m ready to throw my swimsuit in a drawer and not see it again for a few months, and I LOVE summer. I know I’ll be eating my words the second it gets cold, but right now this is how I feel.

Agreed! Texas weather just doesn’t understand my need for cooler temperatures when fall fashion lines hit the stores.

And I pray to Baby Jesus that this cold front kills those freaking lovebugs. Nothing grosses me out more than those stinky little bugs. Do yall get them in Austin. Im never sure where all they roam.
