SXSW question
So what are your thoughts on the wristband vs. no wristband question Tumblr? I’ve never gotten one and was able to get into a lot of shows. This year some people I’m going with are getting them. My question is, are there that many shows that are wristband and badge only that I’d be left out, or is it not worth the $150?

Mostly I see badge only, not badge/wristband only. The benefit is cost, if you go to tons of shows. Badges usually fill popular shows anyway.

Oh hai I just found out you are in Austin haha There are a lot of places you can get into though without those! I would save my money.

I posted my thougts on it today. The one time I bought the wristband, I saw ONE show I had planned. All the others were badge-only.

I got a wristband a couple of years back & didn’t need it. I didn’t get one last year and needed it for the one show I wanted to see :(

I got a wristband last year and am not planning to repurchase this year. I got into just as many shows I wanted to without flashing my wristband. Don’t see the point in purchasing again.

I think it depends on who you’re with. If your friends have one, you might be stuck waiting in lines for shows they don’t have to wait for. But if you all agree to just do the free stuff, there’s plenty to do.

I’m biased but I think the free stuff is way more fun than waiting in lines forever for a 30 minute set of a band you like.
